Construction Contracting
National Certificate
Running small building contracts: quoting, planning, site administration and working with clients.
Site-ready skills in roads, building and plumbing, taught by experienced industry practitioners and proven on real workplaces. Since 2015, Vikinduku has prepared new entrants and working people across KwaZulu-Natal to step onto site as competent, certified workers.
Vikinduku Ngola Trading 16 is a CETA-accredited skills development provider headquartered in Pietermaritzburg. Founded in 2015 by Managing Director Siyabonga Mdlalose, the academy exists for one purpose: to give South Africa's emerging workforce practical construction skills that lead to real, lasting employment.
We sit where public infrastructure delivery meets community development. Municipalities, agencies and contractors tell us where their skills gaps are, and we answer with nationally recognised training designed around the work itself. We measure success by what our learners can do on site, and the certificate confirms it.
Every programme runs inside a quality management system aligned to ISO 21001, the international standard for educational organisations, and to the QCTO accreditation criteria. Assessments are moderated, records are audited and results are reviewed by the directors twice a year.
To be a leading construction and built-environment training provider that transforms skills, empowers communities and strengthens South Africa's workforce through high-quality, industry-aligned education.
To develop competent, work-ready people through accredited, industry-relevant training that meets national standards, opens accessible learning pathways and builds strong employer partnerships.
Every programme follows the same structure: knowledge in the classroom, practice in the training yard and supervised experience at an approved workplace. Learners leave with a nationally recognised credential and a signed logbook that shows an employer exactly what they can do.

Training designed with your team for the needs of your site: construction safety, supervisory development and compliance.
We take the SAQA-registered unit standards in our CETA accreditation scope and turn them into focused one and two-day workshops. Organisations get the substance of accredited training, matched to a problem that costs them time, money or safety, without taking people off site for months. Every delegate leaves with tools they can use the next working day.
For municipalities, developers, main contractors and community trusts that need capable local contractors. Built on the core unit standards of the National Certificate: Construction Contracting (SAQA 20813), the programme takes small and community-based enterprises from setting up a business to pricing, winning and running a construction contract.

Seven stages, each with a named owner, a record and a deadline in our quality management system. Learners always know what comes next, and employers can see where every learner stands.
Our learners finish with more than a certificate. They leave with the proof, the habits and the plan that employers look for.
We manage the full cycle: recruitment, training, placement, assessment and reporting. Your projects get competent people, and your skills spend is backed by records that stand up to audit.

Whether you are ready to start learning, have skills targets to meet or are planning infrastructure work that needs trained people, tell us what you need and our team will come back to you.
